Thank you for your many kind and helpful feedback on air, via the DXcluster or KiwiDX reflector, or by email to our pilot.  Here’s a special selection of our favourite comments ...

Jast a fast note to commend YOU [Duncan] and the ZL7T team that are now unfortunately QRT. I was hopefull of 'nabbing' them on a few other bands although I am still estatic with our 80M SSB QSO. This was only my second time hearing ZL7 and only my first time working the Chathams so............MANY THANKS FOR THE NEW ONE!!!!!  I mean this in the nicest possible way but....your ears were bigger than your mouth as you were obviously hearing me much better than I was hearing ye so thanks again for taking the time to pull out my weak signal. I'm sure that if this was a 6 month DXpedition ye would still generate those enormous pile-ups. Well done on a job well done!  So guys...where next???? ZL9 I hope - hi hi.  Safe journey home.  EI9FBB

Just wanted to pass along my thanks to the excellent 30m OP this morning. He worked down the EU pile fast for sure. I did not have high hopes to work the DX-ped due to its limited duration - glad I made it running 200w from my Mark V into a simple inverted L for 80 meters!  Please pass along my thanks to the team for a commendable job!! DL3YM

Thanks for all of you for your hard work.  Glad I could make the contact on 17m from my 'dead spot' here on the west central coast Florida.  I know band conditions were horrible and QSB was always a problem. KF1FF

I do not use cluster - I do it the old fashioned way.  But N9MM reports to me they have not been spotted during our sunrise on 160.  We both need ZL7 on 160. QSB has been pretty heavy that way on 160.  Night before last ZL3NW was Q5 at the peaks and almost undetectable in the troughs.  K5RX

Guys what can I say but a BIG THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!  Duncan, my time was spot on the band and the mode was perfect....I will not forget this morning ever.  You may have the Tri Nations and the Super 14 and sommer from now until 2015!  My Card will be in the mail today!!!!!!!!! ZS2DL  [wkd ZL7T over the Antarctic path around 23:30z]

No problem re the contact.  I had been calling CQ on 20m cw for about an hour with little success when I turned the beam south at 0400z.  I just about fell out of my chair when you and ZS2EZ popped up.  You were the only guys I heard from that direction and I called CQ for over 1/2 an hour.   Then turned the beam east and got hammered....  I am really pleased to give you a new one as a few months ago you were my first ZS, ever, when I worked you on 20m RTTY.  ZL3AB

Highlight of my weekend was to work ZL7T on 80m ssb, heard them briefly on 160m SSB!!  Before I managed to put few calls packet spot killed quiet QRG. One Italian kept calling and when I asked him if he can actually hear them, he wasn't even hearing me!  M0ITY

I must to say about signal on 80 meters!!!  I am located in central part of Moscow-city, and here had very loud signal on 80m band, on my simple INV V dipole. I have records for history [3Mb WAV file]!! That was really great JOB! RX3AGD

PS  YES!! Duncan I think you did say for guys abt 18mhz,just get on 18!!! yess!!! Many many many thaks!!!

My second morning  lisn for ZL7T  was rewarded with an QSO, I heard them CQ’n  on 1812  at 06.05  just readable 319 but could hear them at least. Signal came up at 06.10  419 without any callers….so I gave my call 2 times and I got  449 449…at 06.15 signal was 519 ….(but I gave in my excitement 559)   My god never thought that this was possible at my sunrise….I was lisning on the 30 dgr. Beverage .(no signal on my K9AY foursquare ) Thank the guys for being there on our sunrise….because signal faded away around 06.25. Needed ZL7  only on 160m. PA3GCV

I can report QSO's on 4 bands now, 80/40/30 cw and 20 ssb.  On 80m it was a new one (#229) for me.  Worked them yesterday on 30m at my local noon time in a JA pile up.  I still need ZL7 on 10 & 160m but I guess this will be more than hard. DL7IO

Thanks for the nice 17 meter CW QSO, and your my first ZL on 17 meter! 73 and Good DX!! JR0AMD

ZL7T is weak but quite workable on 18.070 this evening - LP.  Amazing signals for this time of day!  Good luck. G3ZSS

Dear DX-peditoners, Thanks for the new one on 40m, great job! I had a mess with my computer clock, so the time I logged the QSO might be a bit earlier or later, sri. Cuagn es 73!  DF6PW

Just worked them on 1812!!!!  Full Sweep of possible bands up here in Auckland!!!  Yes they are tough to work on the high bands.  I was E-mailing my friend today in Los Angeles from work and saw they had been spotted on 15 CW, I shot home, hearing NOTHING.. after 20 minutes the band shifted and I heard them S3 I worked them then just as fast as the signal came up, it went away.  They were in for less than 3 minutes.  Same on 17 SSB 15 minutes later.  Was a GOOD early lunch !!  I should have bought a lotto ticket on the way back to work.  W3SE/ZL3TE

You guys had super big signals on 80 this morning, You were 20 over in Germany. We are the farthest point on earth from ZL7, true antipodal. We have only dusk and dawn grayline with You if we want You on 160 at any chance. Please try Your evening sundown for central EU. Otherwise we have no chances on 160. The 160 station opened traffic about half an hour too late for EU today. Maybe You guys give us a chance on the last day. Good luck and a happy return!  DF2PY

Having a great time hunting out the team around the bands. Now have 160,80,20 and 17m. Have been listening up and down on 40 but no sign yet and not on the cluster today. The contest has made things pretty noisy too so perhaps tonight may be quieter.  Have they been on phone/ssb 40m?  Propagation  has been poor for 15m and non-existant on 10m. I will be looking out for them as much as I can. When do they pack up?  ZL1AAO

On Sunday afternoon ZL7T was on 40 Meters SSB, Mike (ZL2CC)  was the operator. I called our local resident 94 year old ham Angus ZL3FS on 2 meters telling him to get on and work them...Bingo he did it. Then later on after dinner (0600Z) ZL7T was on 40CW...Angus really wanted to work them on CW so once again a call over the repeater and there pops ZL3FS.....Tell him go to 7.005 and put his XIT 1 Khz up to transmit. It was entertaining to say the least since the pace of the sending and pile up was a bit daunting for the young fella but I told him rest assure they will hear him. Well the ZL7T op came back and gave a report... but there was some confusion on 3FS part and things went astray  so told him to call back again upon which this time...The ZL7T "slowed right down" to make the contact with Angus. It's in the log I yelled over the repeater!  You see  these guys on the Chathams have been very accommodating to fellow hams to get them in the log and Angus is a happy chappy too! ZL3NB

I had a 3 minutes opening this morning on 1812 kHz,around 06:17 UTC.  Heard them and gave a report, they came back with my call and report and disappeard in the qsb.....  My sunrise is 06:10, there sunset 06:30 A miracle QSO? Hope they will be there again next morning. PE5T

So far the band choices have been very hard for us in SA. I need ZL7 for an all time new one, I'm not sure if I made into 80m (waiting for the online log to update).  It would be great if we have ZL7t tomorrow at our sunrise on 40CW. There were plenty of ZLs today, around 8-9z. By the way, tomorrow is my last chance.  Thanks and congratulations for the guys PY1KN

Cogratulations!  Worked ZL7T on 30, 40 and 80 m now, and from Europe with wire antennas in not easy!  Thanks a lot!  IK0FUX

Please tell the guys "thanks" for doing what they are doing to keep the island on the air.  I am one of those poor guys who only has a 10/15/20 tribander on the air.  Lightning took out my 12/17 vertical. Are there particular times that ZL7T is likely to be on SSB on 15 or 20? Up here on Guam, I can usually hear ZL at around 0400-0600 on 20.  15 has been terrible lately.  NH2MS

PS  I did manage to get the guys on 20-meters.  It helped that I saw the spot from US guys before the JAs caught on.  The ops had very good ears to be able to hear me running 95W into a tribander 7 meters above the ground and 4 meters above my roof.  QSB was awful Sunday afternoon.  I guess you will be busy for the next few days.  I hope the extraction phase goes well.

To all the team of ZL7T, I would like to say congratulations on an excellent operation and also for taking the time out to listen for VK/ZL as not many dx'peditions do these days, with the exception of K5D. It was a pleasure working and listening to the pile-ups. From ALL VK/ZL ... thank you.  VK2HV

I wanted a YL for the Chatham's County, and thanks to Duncan and those on the island, Lee ZL2LE came up on 80M the other night before the NZ Counties & Awards net started. She worked quite a few on 3.795 before dialing down and appearing on the awards net at 9.pm which she also was very popular on.  A bouquet to all involved in the DXpedition. A great job was well done and I'm sure everyone was happy in what they worked.  ZL2SKY

This morning I got them on 80m as well so now 5 bands here. This was actually the first time I heard them on 80 and they were in there until 2 hours after our SR, amazing. Great show from the guys on Chatham. SM6CNN

Been a good day, worked 'em on 80M.  Tip, if you need to get out of bed to work someone at dead of night, drink sufficient water before going to bed.  The mind maybe weak but the bladder resolves the issue.  VP8NO

Thank's to the teem for the nice oppurtunity to have this intresting DXCC.  The first day, the pile-up on 40m cw was really impressive... 3kc full of thousend on hams, and a big wall from US and JA...  ZL7 is on antipodes from Italy... and with this propagation coditions, with this pile up... I was thinking that my chance to work you are very low... But with surprise I got you easily on 40 ssb and 17 cw on longh path! Well done!  Than'k for new one, and see you on next activity.  IZ7FMM
